In a ground-breaking partnership with the City of Casey and SEA Electric, WM Waste has developed the first fully operational electric waste disposal trucks in Australia. As part of Casey City and WM’s shared ambition to minimise carbon emissions, the first of several electric trucks is now on the road and collecting hard waste in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. WM was the first hard waste business in Australia to use hybrid waste trucks in 2008, and is reaffirming its reputation as a leader in the sustainable waste disposal industry with its electric truck program.

The electric trucks are unprecedented, with no equivalent low-emissions waste disposal vehicle currently operating within Australia. It is estimated that each load of waste taken by the electric trucks directly saves approximately 180kg of carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere in comparison with an equivalent diesel truck. The trucks are entirely electric-powered, with no fossil fuels used during operation, and contain cutting-edge battery technology allowing them to operate for up to 250km’s on a single charge.
Asbestos is a deadly material that was used to construct homes in Australia. While it’s true that it was primarily used in homes and buildings built before 1990, it doesn’t mean that your modern home is risk-free. Some asbestos products were still being imported and used to make homes built after 1990, meaning you could still be at risk. Breathing in asbestos fibres can lead to lung cancer and mesothelioma, which is why it’s extremely important to remove any asbestos present in your home or office.
When giving your garden a trim, you might be tempted to toss all your waste in one bin. After all, it’s all green waste, right? Even though green waste consists of organic materials, not all of it will degrade in time.
Because we are situated in Boronia, in Victoria’s South Eastern suburbs, pricing for
our services is dependent on the distance we will need to travel to drop off and collect the rubbish skips.
