Achieving certification to ISO 45001 recognises that WM Waste has adopted a systematic and proactive approach to identifying workplace risks, preventing injuries and maintaining safe work environments across all areas of our business. The standard focuses on worker participation, risk control, continuous improvement and establishing strong leadership in safety practices.
Group General Manager, Matt Jeffs, said the certification reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire WM team.
“Achieving this safety certification has been a long time in the making, and I would like to thank the whole WM team for their contribution towards achieving this milestone,” Matt said. “Without your input, we would not be able to hold these certifications.”

Certification to ISO standards is an ongoing process. WM Waste undergoes regular audits and reviews to maintain compliance and continue improving the way we operate. This ensures that our safety systems remain effective, up to date and aligned with international best practice.
At WM Waste, safety is central to how we work. The achievement of ISO 45001 demonstrates our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for our staff and the communities we serve. We are proud to reach this milestone and look forward to continuing our work to improve safety and wellbeing across the business.
