Q. What's the difference between a Skip Bin and Walk In Bin?


A. For effective waste removal, we supply two types of rubbish bin hire: Skip Bin Hire and Walk In Bin Hire. A skip bin, or Skip Bin, is a 2 cubic metre bin. This particular bin is smaller at the bottom and larger at the top. Our Walk In Bins start from 4 cubic metres and go all the way to 26 cubic metres. The distinguishing difference between the two is that the back end of the Walk In Bin opens up and you are able to walk into the bin.


Q. What cannot go into the rubbish skips?

As such, WM Waste Management Services will not supply rubbish skips for the waste removal of asbestos, car tyres, car batteries, liquids, paints, chemicals, gas bottles, or food waste. Q. Can the bin be placed on my nature strip?


A. Bin and Skip Hire Melbourne regulations stipulate that in order for a rubbish skip to placed outside a residential block, council permits are required. Permits are also required where the waste removal bin is to be placed on the road way. WM Waste Management Services will handle all the paperwork for the Council Permit.


Q. How big a bin do I need?

Q. For how long can I hire the rubbish skip?


A. Rubbish bin hire for removal of waste is 2-3 days for both Skip Bin hire and walk in bin hire. When you book a rubbish skip, we will confirm with you both the delivery and collection dates. Longer periods of bin hire are available where requested.


Q. Is all the rubbish from the bins taken directly to landfill?


A. No. In accordance with solid waste management and recycling principles, we use the Knox Transfer Station along with other tipping facilities to ensure maximum recycling where possible. We also offer cheap rates for the rubbish removal of waste bins containing 100% concrete or 100% dirt because each material is easily recycled.


Q. How high can I fill the bin?


A. Rubbish Skips can only be filled to the side of the bins. No boards or similar material can be placed on the sides to make the bin take more rubbish. Bin and Skip Hire Melbourne regulations ensure we must, and do, comply with Vic Roads safety rules and regulations. The removal of waste bins and rubbish skips we deem unsafe to transport will not be removed and additional costs will be incurred where our collectors arrive on site for non-pickup. Q. How long will it take for my rubbish skip to arrive after ordering?


A. We suggest that you order your waste removal unit in advance to ensure availability. We may be able to deliver it the same day as ordered depending on the schedules for that day.

Q. How can I pay for the rubbish skip?


A. Payment for rubbish bin and rubbish skip hire is required upon delivery of the bins. Payment can be made over the telephone with credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or the drivers can accept cheque or cash when dropping off the rubbish skips. Tax Invoices will be issued by the drivers at the point of delivery.


Q. Are there any extra charges?

If you require rubbish bin hire longer than 2-3 days, additional charges will also apply. Where the bin is overloaded and unsafe to transport, additional charges will also apply.

Q. How much weight can I put into a rubbish skip?


A. Depending on whether it is Skip Bin hire or walk in bin hire, the weight limit varies. Bins for light-weight material (no bricks, concrete or soil) have weight limits as below:


2m3 - 750kgs
4m3 - 1.5 tonne
6m3 - 2 tonne
-9m3 - 3 tonne
-11m3 - 4 tonne


Q. Will the rubbish skip fit in my driveway?


A. All WM Waste Management Services rubbish skips should fit within a standard size driveway, making waste removal with WM one of the most convenient options available. Over-hanging branches, extreme slopes, major bends and low hanging wires may make rubbish skip hire more difficult.


Q. Do you provide waste removal services to residential and commercial properties?

Q. Do you supply permanent bins on site?
