What’s The Difference Between Mini, Midi & Maxi Skips?

Sep 19, 2017

If you want to start recycling your green waste or you want to get rid of household waste, the easiest and most efficient way to do this is to hire a waste management company to provide you with a skip of your choice. Then when you are done with it, the company will come to collect it and dispose of the waste products responsibly.

If you do not choose the right-sized skip though, it could cost you greatly because you may have to hire another skip if your measurements were wrong.

  • MINI

The Mini skip is the smallest of the skips available, coming in a size of 1.5 cubic meters. These are suitable for clearing out smaller jobs such as those of the house, garden, and garage. On average a Mini skip can accommodate between 20 and 30 refuse bags. This skip is small enough to fit in most Australian driveways.

  • MIDI

The Midi skip here is the most commonly-used because of its generic size, which is a little over 3 cubic meters. This skip is suitable for smaller construction work or redecorating work that would normally be done in the bathroom or the kitchen. Since it is of average size, the skip can fit rather comfortably in almost all Australian driveways. It can hold between 30 and 40 refuse bags.

  • MAXI

The Maxi skip is the largest of all the options. Its size measures approximately 8 cubic meters. Commonly called the “builder’s bin” since the Maxi is perfect for large jobs that require hefty or abnormally-shaped waste products. This skip can hold between 60 and 80 refuse bags and is great for larger projects at the home or office.

There are many options to choose from when you want to remove your waste products. If you are planning on redecorating or remodeling your home, consider hiring a skip of the right size so that the process becomes a much easier one. Also, it might be well worth knowing that by removing your green waste, for example, through a waste management company in Melbourne, you will be contributing to the improvement of the environment.
